WDIV-TV (Local 4), Detroit is seeking a
Sales Intern
to gain hands‑on experience with the business side of broadcasting. This internship provides real‑world exposure to advertising, account management, and marketing campaigns in a dynamic media environment.
Sales interns work closely with Account Executives and Sales leadership to support client campaigns, research, and presentations while learning how broadcast sales drives station success.
What you’ll do
Assist Account Executives and Sales leadership with advertising presentations.
Research and identify potential advertisers.
Conduct market research and audience analysis.
Observe sales calls and client interactions.
Support campaign preparation and client communications.
Provide administrative support to the Sales team.
Track opportunities and support business growth using Salesforce.
Internship details
Duration: Up to 12 weeks
Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week
Location: Onsite in Detroit, Michigan
Academic credit: Internship must be completed for college credit
Eligibility requirements
Be at least 18 years old
All candidates must be available to work up to 20 hours per week, with a minimum of 18 hours, on a Monday–Sunday schedule. Specific days and times, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays, will be set by your supervisor.
Be enrolled in an accredited college or university with sophomore standing or higher
Be pursuing a degree in communications, journalism, broadcasting, marketing, media studies, or related field
Be eligible to receive academic credit and provide verification from their university
Able to have reliable transportation to/from work.
