Equitable is looking for a dynamic Underwriting Operations Representative to join our team as a hybrid work position based out of our Charlotte, NC office.

What You’ll Be Doing

Meeting the turnaround times on RFP Inventory assignments

Processing requests from distribution partners and internal stakeholders and partnering with Underwriting to be sure the case is set up correctly

Continuing to learn product and process knowledge for self‑development and future advancement

Identifying reasons for non‑standard processing of RFPs

Creating quote cards and proposals for a portion of groups after the RFP intake process

Working with Underwriting to edit proposals

Releasing proposals for a portion of groups to sales executives

Working with AI to improve its accuracy and function by providing feedback and suggestions

Developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders

What You Will Bring

Basic understanding of Document Management, including using EXL, Word, SharePoint, and other Microsoft Office platforms

Basic understanding of effective communication with internal partners, including strong written skills

Basic understanding of managing multiple priorities, including varying deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors degree

Preferred experience with Salesforce

Preferred experience with Group Employee Benefits (Life, Disability, Dental, Vision, Critical Illness, Accident, and Hospital Indemnity)

Skills

Data Gathering and Reporting:

Knowledge of tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department or division of a company.

Document Management:

Knowledge of document management; ability to categorize, integrate, update, document and distribute business information in a secure, effective way.

Effective Communications:

Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Knowledge of Organization:

Knowledge of the organization's vision, structure, culture, philosophy, operating principles, values, and code of ethics; ability to understand the value of aligning capabilities with business goals to support optimal performance.

Managing Multiple Priorities:

Knowledge of effective self‑management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

Project Administration:

Knowledge of project administration best practices and ability to use organizational strategies, practices and tools for administering projects.

Benefits & Compensation The base salary range for this position is $42,000 - $50,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short‑term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.
