Summary Of Responsibilities The Outreach Specialist will be primarily responsible for conducting outreach and education efforts for NMIC programs. The Outreach Specialist will participate in community events, organize tabling events, and distribute information related to NMIC programs during internal events and other educational workshops hosted by NMIC’s external partners.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

Collect and compile outreach materials for distribution and for display at NMIC’s offices.

Work closely with community partners to conduct outreach and education efforts regarding NMIC programs and services at community-based education, training, and workforce initiatives to increase community awareness of and engagement with NMIC programs.

Identify and attend a minimum of 48 community events and workshops to distribute outreach materials, including by responding to external partner requests for NMIC’s attendance.

Coordinate and schedule agency event tabling efforts at community fairs/events, including staffing events scheduled for evenings and weekends.

Engage in individual community outreach to distribute healthcare access and coverage information and other outreach materials.

Participate and assist with NMIC’s bimonthly food pantry.

Support reception staff with front desk coverage.

Assist in monitoring NMIC Intake lines.

Attend unit and agency-wide meetings as scheduled.

Qualifications

Experience working with Latino immigrant populations in a community-based setting strongly preferred.

Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage community members and representatives of partner organizations.

Exceptional collaborative skills and the ability to interact with other office staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment.

Strong verbal and writing skills in English and Spanish (bilingual skills required).

Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

Salary/Benefits The salary range for this position is $56,000-$60,255 dependent upon experience.

NMIC offers a generous benefits package including medical, dental, life, and disability insurance; paid time off consisting of 20 vacation days, 15 sick days, 5 personal days, 11 agency holidays, plus the week off from Christmas Eve through New Year’s Day; a 401k with agency contribution; and other benefits.
