Job Description Summary The Room Readiness Specialist / Housekeeper / Room Attendant performs duties in cleaning and servicing of guest rooms and baths under the supervision of the housekeeping supervisor(s). The Room Readiness Specialist is responsible for the overall room cleanliness to ensure exceptional service to all guests that is consistent and continually in accordance with the Autograph Collection standards under the Marriott franchise of Mainsail Lodging and Development.
This role promotes a positive image of the property to guests and must be pleasant, honest, and friendly, and should also be able to address guest requests and concerns. This role will complete special projects in an effort to customize the guest experience and provide exceptional service.
Must be available evenings and weekends***
Typical shifts will be on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays and will include evenings - typical schedule is 9am-5:30pm (subject to changes based on business need)
Pay rate: $15 - $16/hour depending on experience and qualifications

Essential Job Functions
Clean and sanitize assigned hotel rooms to include: dusting, vacuuming, changing bed linens, cleaning windows, mirrors, cleaning bathrooms, vents, lobby areas, walls, carpets, and common areas within shift time requirements
Provide deep cleaning services as directed by housekeeping management and supervisors
Provide personalized services for event guests, including decorating their rooms to enhance their experience
Provide turn down service for guests as requested
Acknowledge guests in all public spaces with a warm and friendly greeting
Perform quality cleaning to meet the requirements of the room inspections
Replenish amenities within guest rooms, including toiletries and minibar
Follow scheduled shifts and follow break and lunch requirements
Deep clean on a rotational schedule
Assist with VIP arrivals
Maintain guest confidentiality following all hotel procedures
Safely clean rooms with the proper chemicals
Refill bottled chemicals at the close of the shift to ensure the next team is stocked
Communicate with co-workers on room inventory needs
Communicate professionally, including in person and while using technology
Respect all guests, team members, and management by maintaining a positive, friendly attitude
Report any technology, maintenance, or room ware issues to Housekeeping Manager
Interact with all hotel guests in a professional manner; use the guests name, assist guests as needed, and share hotel knowledge
Assist guests with any special requests, including amenities or any room ware needs
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the housekeeping office and storage area. Ensure carts are cleaned and restocked daily
Perform turndown service as requested by guest
Report any suspicious activity, unusual items, or irregular behavior from guests in public areas and/or in room
Review daily board and refresh stay over rooms
Follow all hotel policies and procedures as outlined in the team member handbook
Other necessary duties as reasonably assigned
Hotel Performance
Ensure successful performance by assisting guests with an exceptional experience to ensure high performing scores on the GSS (Guest Satisfaction Surveys) according to Marriott and Mainsail/Fenway standards.
Education & Experience
Highschool diploma or equivalent
Previous hospitality experience preferred
Prior experience in a cleaning position
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong customer service skills
Ability to use technology, e.g., computers, tablets, iPads
Organizational skills
Proven experience in working quickly and efficiently
Ability to take initiative and handle assignments with limited supervision
A sense of ownership in everything that you do
Physical Demands
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Ability to bend frequently
Ability to push up to 100 lbs
Ability to lift, pull and push up to 50 lbs
Ability to communicate clearly
Ability to work long hours as needed
