Job Summary P&C Private Client Group (PCG/affluent lines) is a division of NFP Property & Casualty. The division serves affluent and wealthy individuals and families seeking personal lines products in the United States, parts of Europe, and Canada. Headquarters are in New York City with offices across the country, specializing in insurance ranging from homeowners and auto to specialty lines such as aircraft and watercraft.
The Role At NFP As a Sr. Account Manager or Account Executive, you will interact with clients daily while developing and maintaining relationships with both clients and carrier representatives. You will prepare applications, specifications, and marketing strategies for new business as well as renewals of assigned clients with minimal supervision. This role requires you to lead as a consultant and primary point of contact for clients, potentially working on large, complex accounts with substantial premiums and multifaceted coverages. Salary and title will be commensurate with experience.
This is a full‑time position. We offer a flexible hybrid schedule from our Southampton, NY office and will consider a remote option for highly qualified candidates in the NY tri‑state area who can report to the Southampton office or attend on‑site meetings when required.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and clients through regular contact and client visits.
Keep clients apprised of appropriate industry trends and events, including all state and federal regulatory issues.
Negotiate terms, conditions, coverage limits, and pricing with carriers and wholesalers.
Work with the Claims Department on relevant claims for assigned clients.
Ensure accurate information—updated exposures, driver information, reporting forms, signed endorsements, and miscellaneous details—to avoid any E&O claims.
Maintain a diary (follow‑up system) to ensure policies, endorsements, and other information are received to comply with requests.
May direct the daily job activities of Coordinators and Account Managers.
Knowledge, Skills, And/Or Abilities
Excellent written communication skills—clear writing, editing for spelling and grammar, varied style to meet needs, and effective presentation of numeric data.
Self‑starter and self‑confident to make sound independent decisions.
Ability to interact successfully with a variety of people and personalities.
Strong negotiation and leadership skills.
Technical expertise plus good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to handle situations with calm, courtesy, and professionalism.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines while applying sharp attention to detail, decision‑making, and problem resolution.
Willingness to travel with clients and prospects when required (minimal regional travel expected with approved expense coverage).
Ability to work overtime as necessary.
Education And/Or Experience
BA/BS preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is required with additional training or education.
Typically, more than 7 years of industry and product line experience, including servicing.
Personal Lines/PCG coverage experience required.
Familiarity with major markets such as AIG, Chubb/ACE, Cincinnati, Berkley One, and PURE.
Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
CRM experience required; EPIC experience highly desired.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration
Property & Casualty Broker's License required upon hire.
CIC, CPCU, or other P&C designation preferred.
