Provides direction, implements strategies, and executes tactics aligned with the organization’s core values for its corporate social responsibility program and charitable initiatives; creates awareness of Lake Trust Credit Union in market areas and builds relationships with key community contacts; supports the communities we serve by engaging with leadership and identifying unmet needs; connects community leaders and organizations to Lake Trust resources to improve the lives of our members, our member communities and to create a better Michigan!

What You’ll Do

Serve as a trusted point of contact for community organizations and charitable organizations seeking support or resources from Lake Trust Credit Union or Lake Trust Foundation.

Identify areas of opportunity and manage the Lake Trust Foundation Community Impact Program. Assist with managing the giving program and distribution process and develop communication mechanisms to enable continuous feedback and reporting, ensuring program alignment with an organizations or communities’ need and Lake Trust’s core values.

Influence and support the organization’s strategic direction by providing insight about how corporate responsibility programs influence consumer behavior, as well as how individual local markets respond and their giving priorities. Provide feedback and insight into how consumer behavior may be positively linked to charitable ties.

Attend community events and work to proactively grow existing relationships and develop new ones with community leaders and aligned charitable organizations across the state of Michigan in key Lake Trust Credit Union markets.

Research current, relevant community-based social issues and priorities throughout Michigan that align with Lake Trust’s core values and priority areas of giving. Develop an understanding of the communities’ needs and develop goals as to how Lake Trust can support them.

Participate on charitable committees and community development organizations as appropriate.

Develop and execute strategies to continuously evolve and grow the organization’s employee volunteer program. Provide support to leadership teams by identifying opportunities for volunteerism across Lake Trust’s geographic footprint.

Engage Lake Trust staff through internal communications by conveying the importance of corporate social responsibility and individual engagement so as to align with the organization’s core values, specifically “Making a Difference in our Community.”

Ensure visibility throughout the various locations of Lake Trust and actively engage team members.

Assist with the planning, leading, and execution of special events related to corporate social responsibility, members, etc., both internally and externally to achieve organizational goals.

Identify opportunities to engage social media and public relations to further the corporate social responsibility program and the Lake Trust Brand.

Collaborate with Brand Development + Engagement, and Culture + Engagement to create awareness of programs and impact of volunteerism and community engagement.

Provide insight and feedback and report on key metrics to the organization’s leaders through various reports as requested.

Work closely with Business Development to coordinate collaborative efforts around community and economic development.

Nimble self-starter with strong work ethic. Able to identify areas of need and troubleshoot with minimal direction.

Education, Training, Experience, Certifications And Licensure

Position requires a four-year degree or equivalent professional experience.

Experience in nonprofit, foundation or community development or relationship development preferred. Volunteer management experience preferred.

Experience with event coordination and management.

Demonstrated program management experience preferred.

Ability to negotiate and influence a variety of stakeholders.
