About the Position We seek an individual with a collaborative spirit who can seamlessly work together with other top-talented architects, engineers, designers, and drafters to advance our projects. YOUR ROLE WILL INVOLVE: Project Related
Work with architects, design teams, and clients to identify their needs and create interior environments for new or renovated spaces
Select colors, materials, and finishes to appropriately convey the design concept and meet functional, maintenance, lifecycle performance, environmental, budgetary, and safety requirements
Assist clients with the selection of furniture, fixtures, equipment, and millwork, including layout drawings and detailed product descriptions; and assist in the process of pricing, procurement, and installation of furniture
Integrate the final interior design into the construction documents, including, but not limited to, room finish key/schedules, specifications, 3D model, and drawings
Coordinate and collaborate with other allied design professionals, product reps, and furniture dealers
Create and present interior design concepts and finish boards
Assist the firm as a resource regarding finishes and interiors industry standards and trends
Manage project schedules and budgets
Perform site visits and shop drawing review during the construction administration phase
Business Development
Develop strategies to promote and cultivate interior design services for existing and potential clients
Promote excellence in interior architecture through thought leadership and evidence-based design
Attendance at industry-related events
Other
Develop/refine master specifications for interior materials
Develop efficient methods to document material selectionsMaintain interiors library
Research and stay current on design trends
LOCATION
Somerville’s office is located in Green Bay, Wisconsin
This is a part-time or full-time, in-office position
QUALIFICATIONS Experience
Three or more years of interior design experience
Experience in healthcare design, furniture layout, or environmental graphics design is a plus
Technical Knowledge
Experience with Microsoft Office, Revit, and Bluebeam preferred
Experience with Lumion rendering software is a plus
Knowledge of commercial building codes and ADA guidelines
Education & Licenses
National Council for Interior Design Qualification certification is not required, but the candidate will be expected to obtain certification
Skills
Artistic ability and style, creativity, and imagination
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong attention to detail and organization
Ability to remain flexible and open to changes in project scope
Have good 3D spatial awareness and the ability to visualize and communicate concepts
