Job Description Brown University Athletics & Recreation seeks a high‑caliber, forward‑thinking leader to serve as the Senior Associate Director of Athletics, Business Office and Revenue Generation/CFO.
In this pivotal role, you will serve as the Division's Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Strategic Revenue Officer. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will act as the primary architect of the Division's financial future and the lead strategist for revenue growth. Your responsibilities will balance rigorous multi‑year fiscal modeling with creative energy to drive new income streams through ticketing, marketing, and external events. This position oversees the long‑term planning and daily management of financial activities for 45+ cost centers, ensuring budget allocations support student‑athlete welfare, gender equity, and competitive excellence.
Core Responsibilities
Serve as the division's lead financial strategist, advising the Athletics Director on long‑term fiscal sustainability, risk mitigation, and resource allocation.
Provide active oversight of budget performance across all sport and administrative units, ensuring adherence to approved allocations.
Lead the strategy for new ticket revenue streams and outbound sales initiatives.
Manage vendor negotiations and service contracts in collaboration with appropriate university partners.
All division employees must demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and adhere to NCAA and Ivy League rules and regulations, reporting violations to the compliance office.
Coaching staff must receive annual NCAA rules education and maintain AED/CPR and First Aid certifications.
All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background check and education verification satisfactory to Brown.
Entry Into The Candidate Pool Requires The Following Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Experience
7-10 years of experience in athletic administration with a proven track record in financial management and revenue generation.
Deep knowledge of NCAA and Ivy League rules and regulations.
Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable strategy for university leadership.
Excellence in navigating a high‑profile university environment and fostering cross‑functional coordination.
