Automotive Business Development Representative – Farmington Hills, MI

The ideal candidate will manage inbound and outbound customer communication to convert leads into scheduled sales or service appointments. Responsibilities
Respond promptly to internet leads, phone calls, emails, and chat inquiries to drive showroom and service traffic
Schedule sales appointments for the showroom and service appointments for the service department
Follow up with customers to confirm appointments, reschedule no-shows, and maintain ongoing contact
Handle high volumes of inbound and outbound communication professionally and courteously, often using scripts
Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions in the dealership CRM/database and update with all interactions and lead activity
Coordinate with sales and service teams to ensure leads are handled efficiently and customers are prepared for visits
Stay knowledgeable about current inventory, promotions, and dealership offerings to provide accurate information to customers
Support overall dealership operations by providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth communication
Assist with reporting, lead tracking, and analysis to support business development goals
Build relationships with potential customers to generate repeat business and referrals
Punctual in conversing with customers and employees over the phone, as well as inbound and outbound calling
Requirements & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in customer service, sales, or automotive BDC preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong computer skills and proficiency with CRM/database management
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Positive attitude, motivated, and sales/marketing-oriented
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Professional appearance and demeanor
Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours if needed
Ability to manage multiple tasks and leads efficiently
Skilled in customer relationship management and follow-up
Proficient in using CRM and dealership software
Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving skills
Adaptable and willing to learn new processes and technology
Ability to take care of customers needs upfront (if applicable)
