Summary The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing and creating online learning courses, web-based training, instructor-led training materials and guides, and all supporting content. The Instructional Designer works directly with the Training Officer and collaborates with business partners and the Corporate Trainers to develop learning solutions. They also work with the training team to validate the learning solutions created to deliver the intended learning experience. This position will act as a backup Corporate Trainer, if needed at times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Synthesizes and writes course content based on input from the Training Officer, subject matter experts, written material, previous training courses, interviews, etc.
Produces e-learning content using appropriate software tools such as Articulate 360 to create screen layouts, graphics, and interactions appropriate to the content, including graphics placement, animations, audio importing & editing.
Writes the audio script for e-learning courses in collaboration with the subject matter experts and records voice-over for eLearning courses.
Designs quizzes and meaningful course interactions to increase learning and retention.
Proof courses at multiple stages of development and make or document required changes.
Ensure content/courses cater effectively to a wide variety of learners; modularize and update existing instructor-led and online content; and curate the most relevant content to be included in the course.
Creates and edits videos as needed for training projects.
Work closely with Corporate Trainers in developing Participant Guides, Leader's Guides, PowerPoints, online resources, websites and handouts for all training delivery channels.
Participate in team brainstorming and strategy meetings to help define goals and direction.
Applies a flexible approach to curriculum design, re-design, and development.
Builds collaborative partnerships with peers and with business partners.
Communicates effectively in visual, oral, and written form and delivers engaging presentations to business leaders.
Serves as backup to Corporate Trainer positions as needed.
Maintains a current knowledge and consistent compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements, as well as knowledge and consistent compliance with other banking regulations and Bank policies and procedures related to the position.
Delivers quality of service as defined by department standards.
Maintains confidentiality as defined by department standards.
Supports the company's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Education and/or Experience Corporate Instructional Designer I
Manages instructional design projects with the Training Officer.
Defines project schedules and manages multiple projects simultaneously. Keeps track of project tasks and status using our online project management software. Communicates timelines and project plans with stakeholders.
Conducts detailed needs assessments with internal stakeholders to determine learning needs and partners with subject matter experts to develop outlines, scripts, scenarios, storyboards, and simulations for self-study (eLearning), WebEx Webinars, and Instructor-led training.
Defines objectives for a course and/or curriculum. Outlines the concept for a course or curriculum, defining (needs for) the course medium, content delivery, assessments, accompanying materials, and complementary learning approaches.
Acquires and applies new technology skills to instructional design practice.
Serves as lead administrator for Learning Management System.
Self-identifies goals to work towards.
Performs the duties above with moderate direction and supervision.

Independently manages instructional design projects.
Creates individual plan to achieve goals and can articulate the plan, monitors own progress, and holds self-accountable to achieving goals.
Acts as a resource for junior training staff.
Performs required duties with minimal direction and supervision.
