Overview The Opportunity

Fathom Manufacturing is hiring a

Floating BDR

to act as a

force multiplier

for our Commercial Site Leaders across the country. This role exists for one reason:

open doors that turn into RFQs, pipeline, and booked work for our sites.

You will be deployed dynamically based on

site capacity needs , helping local Commercial Site Leaders accelerate new logo penetration, re-engage dormant accounts, and convert conversations into real quoting activity. This is not a generic SDR role. You are tightly aligned to

site utilization, near-term revenue, and commercial momentum .

What You’ll Own

Outbound prospecting in support of specific Fathom sites and capacity needs

Meeting generation and RFQ discovery for Commercial Site Leaders

Early-stage qualification to ensure handoffs convert to real pipeline

Momentum creation in local markets where sites need load quickly

You succeed when

sites are quoting more, meeting more prospects, and filling capacity faster .

Key Responsibilities

Outbound Door Opening

Execute high-volume outbound calling campaigns aligned to site-level priorities

Target net-new logos, dormant accounts, and under-penetrated regional manufacturers

Focus conversations on uncovering active programs and RFQ opportunities

Meeting & RFQ Generation

Book qualified meetings directly onto Commercial Site Leaders’ calendars

Identify near-term quoting opportunities and ensure clean handoff to the site owner

Occasionally support light deal progression where it accelerates quoting

Site-Aligned Execution

Rotate focus based on real-time site capacity needs

Quickly learn each site’s core processes, industries, and ideal customer profile

Act as an extension of the site’s commercial presence in the market

Pipeline Hygiene & Reporting

Track calls, meetings booked, and pipeline created with discipline

Maintain clean CRM data to ensure visibility into activity and impact

Provide regular updates on campaign effectiveness and market feedback

Consistent outbound call volume

Meetings booked with qualified manufacturing buyers

RFQs surfaced and routed to sites

Fully ramped on outbound motion and site alignment

Material contribution to pipeline creation across multiple sites

Clear linkage between outbound activity and site utilization improvement

Viewed internally as a high-impact commercial asset, not just a caller

Who You Are

Early-career to mid-level sales or business development professional

Comfortable on the phone and energized by outbound activity

Curious about manufacturing, engineering, and how things get made

Organized, resilient, and metrics-driven

Able to move fast, take feedback, and adapt to different sites and markets

Motivated by learning the business and creating real commercial impact
