SAIC is seeking a skilled Proposal Writer Team Lead to supervise a segment of 8‑10 Proposal Development Center (PDC) writers. The Team Lead must demonstrate strong leadership and coaching, high‑quality writing, and solid AI‑use skills to manage writing and content deliverables. The successful candidate should live within commuting distance of Northern Virginia and/or the greater Washington metropolitan area. This position offers flexibility for remote work; however, the candidate must be willing to travel and collaborate in‑office in Reston, VA when necessary.

What You’ll Do – Key Responsibilities

Manage and lead a team of writers, providing administrative and performance management support.

Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to strengthen the PDC’s position in the proposal process.

Offer ad‑hoc training, coaching, and general guidance on best practices for proposal quality and customer service.

Write and lead technical, management, resume, and past performance sections and volumes.

Collaborate within a team to clearly articulate the solution, strategy, approach to work, experience, win themes, and discriminators.

Utilize communication and interviewing skills to gather essential information from internal and external stakeholders to support writing activities.

Craft clear, persuasive, and articulate proposal sections, translating complex ideas into easily understandable text.

Develop and implement process improvements and training to enhance proposal quality.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with 18+ years of experience, Master's with 16 years of experience.

10+ years of experience as a proposal writer responding to Federal Government solicitations.

Proven success in writing and leading technical, management, resume, and/or past performance volumes for complex efforts.

Excellent writing skills.

Solid use of AI platforms to develop proposal content.

Strong organizational and leadership skills.

Ability to coach and instruct others to ensure consistency and quality.

Strong work ethic with a commitment to ongoing excellence and growth.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Candidates must have the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

We Really Wish You Would Have

Solid experience using various AI platforms.

Experience with FEDSIM/AAS, OTA, and Self‑Scoring bids is a plus.

Knowledge of infrastructure modernization, applications/software development and sustainment, cloud solutions, warfighter solutions, and agile methodologies for defense, civilian, space, and national security sectors of the federal government.
