Senior Radiation Protection Specialist - Nuclear Facilities (DOE/LANL) (Operations Support Specialist 4)

As a Senior Radiation Protection Specialist, you'll serve as the technical authority guiding project teams, engineers, and construction crews in maintaining safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence in one of the nation's most demanding nuclear environments.
What You'll Do
Serve as technical authority on Radiation Protection for design, construction, startup, and operational readiness activities at TA-55/PF-4
Provide expert guidance to project teams, engineers, and construction crews on RP compliance and best practices
Conduct independent technical reviews and assessments of Radiation Protection activities in a high-hazard nuclear facility
Develop and enforce work standards and operational practices for nuclear facility activities
Support work planning, radiation work permit development, and posting compliance
Interface with management and customer representatives to communicate technical recommendations and project status
Mentor and guide less experienced RP staff
What We're Looking For Required
U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a DOE Q Clearance
8 years of relevant experience, including 5 years directly supporting Radiation Protection or work planning in a DOE Category II or NRC nuclear facility
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience (AA, BAS, BS considered)
Demonstrated ability to conduct independent technical reviews and assessments
Unescorted and A-Level access eligibility
Preferred
Experience in DOE plutonium facilities (TA-55/PF-4)
U.S. Nuclear Navy experience in radiation protection or nuclear operations
Strong knowledge of Conduct of Operations (CoO) principles
