
Instructional Designer I

The Instructional Designer (I) will support designing and developing instructional materials for various learning programs and clients. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about educational technology and curriculum design who are looking to gain hands‑on experience in a professional setting. This position reports to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in the development and design of instructional materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training, and blended learning solutions. Communicate and collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather and analyze content requirements. Support the creation of storyboards, scripts, and other instructional design documents. Use authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, Vyond, Camtasia, Captivate, etc.) to develop engaging and interactive learning experiences. Conduct basic quality assurance reviews to ensure content accuracy and functionality. Assist in the deployment and maintenance of online courses in client Learning Management Systems (LMSs). Provide administrative support for training programs, including scheduling, tracking participation, and compiling feedback. Stay current with trends in instructional design and educational technology.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Education, or a related field (or currently pursuing a degree in these areas). 3-5 years of experience as an instructional designer and e-learning developer who has created e-learning experiences and materials for instructor-led training in a client-based relationship. Strong portfolio required. Understanding of the application of instructional design principles and adult learning theories. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Google Workspace. Experience developing within e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Rise and Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Vyond, etc.). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Previous experience in instructional design or educational content development for client-based work. Must have prior professional experience as an instructional designer for corporations or private sector organizations. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMSs). Basic graphic design and multimedia editing skills (e.g., Photoshop, Camtasia, Canva).
Position Specifications: Fully remote position. Must be located within the Commonwealth of Kentucky and be able to work within the hours of 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM EST. Salary range $55,000 - $65,000 (strict cap) No healthcare or retirement benefits offered at this time.
