PeaceHealth is seeking a System Vice President Marketing and Communications in Vancouver, WA. The role provides visionary leadership for PeaceHealth's brand, reputation, and engagement strategies across the entire care continuum in all the communities we serve.

The System Vice President of Marketing and Communications is accountable for marketing, brand management, digital and consumer engagement, media and public relations, internal and external communications, and crisis communication. The role aligns organizational strategy with culture, caregiver and physician engagement, and community perception.

The role shapes and advances a unified marketing, communications, and digital strategy that strengthens caregiver and community trust, supports service line growth, and amplifies the organization’s mission of delivering high‑quality, compassionate care. It translates organizational priorities into compelling narratives and market‑facing strategies that differentiate PeaceHealth in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape, leveraging data‑driven insights, consumer intelligence, and innovative communication approaches.

As a trusted advisor to senior leadership, the VP manages reputation, stakeholder engagement, and strategic messaging during times of growth, transformation, and change, ensuring all activities comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Essential Functions

Serves as a key member of the system leadership team to define and advance PeaceHealth’s mission, brand and performance strategies and goals through creative, engaging communication platforms internally and externally.

Shape and advance a unified marketing, communications, and digital strategy that strengthens caregiver and community trust, supports service line growth, and amplifies the organization’s mission.

Uses consumer and community research data and trends to inform system and community specific communications, marketing, branding, media programs and strategies.

Develops media relations plans that incorporate PeaceHealth’s mission and values and reflect the specific needs of each geographic location, partnering with key executives, board members and community leaders.

Manages media, reputation management and crisis management strategies in collaboration with legal, mission, operations and others as appropriate, employing a rapid response team model as needed. Identifies and develops key media spokespeople across the communities.

Provides leadership for enterprise labor and workforce communications, guiding messaging strategies that promote transparency, reinforce organizational priorities, and sustain caregiver confidence during periods of change.

Develops and manages service resources including budget and staffing structure/needs within approved parameters.

Leads the design and execution of identified organizational events that bring organizational strategy to life and foster meaningful engagement with key stakeholders.

Develops and promotes collaborative relationships with key stakeholders (internally and externally) and co‑manages joint projects.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or management.

Master’s degree in business, marketing or management or related field or a combination of education and professional experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the job.

Required Experience

Minimum of 10 years management experience leading internal and external corporate communications and affairs in a senior leadership position in strategic corporate communications where responsible for brand/identity building, social media, crisis management and/or similar.

Experience leading marketing and communications teams across a system with distinct communities in a service delivery model.

Proven strategy and media spokesperson experience in organizational reputation protection, issues management, crisis communications management, and labor union communications.

Demonstrated track record in using consumer data to develop brand identity that reaches the hearts and minds of specific populations and communities.

Experience selecting and implementing social media and other digital technologies for real‑time communications and engagement.

Non‑profit, mission‑based healthcare and hospital experience in a marketing and communications role. (Preferred)

Ability to build, motivate and inspire diverse and highly productive, collaborative teams across geographic regions.

Ability to develop and deliver communications training to executives, leaders, and caregivers designed to achieve desired mission and business goals and messages.

Results‑oriented leadership and capable of demonstrating outcomes and ROI.

The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is

$341,409 – $460,912 . The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, seniority, etc.
