Our financial enterprise client is looking for a UI‑craft‑focused product designer with exceptional visual design skills and 3–5 years of experience designing native mobile applications (iOS and Android). The ideal candidate must have strong visual design instincts and interaction design capability, and is comfortable translating product concepts and UX direction into polished, high‑fidelity mobile interfaces.
This person will partner closely with the lead product strategy and experience direction. As a result, we are specifically looking for someone who excels at interface design, visual hierarchy, and product execution, and who can help elevate the overall quality and polish of the mobile app.
What we are looking for:
Strong visual UI craft and attention to detail demonstrated through portfolio work
Experience designing native mobile app experiences (iOS and Android)
Ability to translate product requirements and UX concepts into polished, high‑fidelity interface designs
Ability to raise the visual quality and polish of mobile product experiences
Comfort working within established enterprise design systems and component libraries
Ability to create interactive prototypes that communicate interaction behavior and product flows
Strong collaboration with product managers and engineering teams during implementation
Responsibilities will include:
Designing high‑fidelity UI for new features and improvements within the American Express mobile app
Translating product concepts and user flows into clear, refined interface designs
Elevating the visual quality, hierarchy, and polish of product experiences across the app
Creating interactive prototypes to communicate interaction behavior and product logic
Working within and extending an established mobile design system
Partnering with engineers to ensure designs are implemented with high fidelity
Qualifications:
3–5 years of product design experience in agile product environments
Proven experience designing native mobile applications (iOS and Android)
Portfolio demonstrating strong visual UI craft and interaction design
Advanced proficiency in Figma (components, auto layout, variants, and libraries)
Experience working with enterprise design systems
Strong ability to produce production‑ready interface designs for development
This role is primarily focused on high‑quality UI execution and interaction design, while still contributing to UX thinking where appropriate. Candidates should include examples of mobile UI work in their portfolio.
This will be a New York–based role, with a contract expected to run through the end of December.
