Role Overview The Junior Interior Designer supports the design team in developing and executing interior design projects from concept through installation. This role assists with design development, sourcing materials and furnishings, preparing presentations, and coordinating project documentation while learning the firm’s design standards and processes. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about design, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced creative environment.
Key Responsibilities Design Support
Assist senior designers with the development of design concepts, mood boards, and presentations
Support the preparation of design drawings, floor plans, elevations, and renderings
Assist with space planning and furniture layouts
Help translate design ideas into visual presentations for clients
Sourcing & Materials
Research and source furniture, finishes, fabrics, lighting, and accessories
Coordinate with vendors, showrooms, and suppliers
Maintain and organize material libraries and samples
Assist with product selections and specification documentation
Project Documentation
Prepare and maintain design documentation and specification sheets
Support development of FF&E schedules and procurement lists
Assist with updating project timelines, budgets, and design revisions
Ensure documentation is accurate and aligned with project requirements
Project Coordination
Support coordination between design team, vendors, contractors, and clients
Assist with ordering, tracking, and delivery of furniture and materials
Help monitor installation timelines and logistics
Assist in preparing client presentations and meeting materials
Attend design meetings, vendor meetings, and site visits when required
Take meeting notes and support follow-up items
Assist with installation days and project styling/Photo shoots
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
Typically 2-5 years of interior design experience or relevant internships
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Revit
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
Familiarity with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
Knowledge of material specifications and furniture sourcing
Skills
