We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Junior Estimator
to join our growing construction team in Morris Plains, New Jersey. This role supports the estimating department in preparing competitive bids by reviewing plans, performing quantity take-offs, coordinating subcontractor pricing, and assisting in overall bid development.
This is a full-time, in-office position (Monday–Friday) and an excellent opportunity for someone early in their construction career who is looking to build long-term expertise in estimating and preconstruction.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Review project specifications, drawings, and contract documents to understand scope requirements
Perform material and quantity take-offs from construction plans
Solicit and track proposals from subcontractors and suppliersAssist in analyzing and leveling subcontractor bids
Enter and organize quantities and pricing in HCSS HeavyBid
Support the preparation and assembly of bid packages
Coordinate with sales teams, project managers, and vendors to clarify scope and pricing
Maintain organized bid documentation and files
Assist with bid submissions and public bid openings
Qualifications
1–5 years of construction industry experience preferred
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and contract documents strongly preferred
Experience in civil or sports construction is a plus
Experience with HCSS HeavyBid or Salesforce preferred but not required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow within the organization
Work Environment This position operates in a professional office environment and requires frequent collaboration with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
