Dudley Shoals Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking an Associate Pastor/Youth Ministry. The primary responsibility of this position will be to provide leadership and teaching for the youth ministry of our church (7th-12th grades). He must exhibit a personal and growing relationship with Jesus, be spiritually mature, enthusiastic, and bring fresh vision and leadership to this already healthy ministry. Our goal is for students to come to Christ, grow in Him, and serve Jesus in advancing the gospel beyond youth group.
This position will work to establish intentional relationships with the church’s families by encouraging and equipping parents to disciple their children. The Associate Pastor will assist the lead pastor in areas of preaching, worship leadership, visitation, counseling, and administration as needed. He will also provide leadership for the youth ministry, work with families and the youth fellowship committee, and collaborate with committees on special courses, programming, learning opportunities, and counseling.
Ultimately it is our vision that he would love the Lord and the Word of God, be willing to cultivate a team mindset working with our staff, and have a heart for God’s church.
Qualifications
College degree and/or seminary degree desirable
Mature in the faith and a thorough understanding of the Bible
Ability to recruit and train leaders in the area of youth
Ability to work with the Lead Pastor and staff
Strong administrative abilities
Agreement with the statement of faith of Dudley Shoals Baptist Church
Commitment to personal disciplines of prayer, Bible reading, ministry and sharing his faith
Lead the youth in regular times of discipleship
Experience in student ministry desired
