Summary The Public Affairs Specialist will actively support Energy Transfer's public outreach through stakeholder engagement and communications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Work in advance planning, managing of public events

Writing and editing materials for speaking engagements, opinion editorials, and other public messaging documents; Manage consultants and work with industry trade groups to form strategic partnerships

Educates public and key stakeholders on current activities of business and organizes supporters for further engagement opportunities

Support various external engagement related to existing operations and new projects

Organizes and coordinates special programs and activities to strengthen public interest, understanding, and goodwill

Coordinates employee volunteerism activities in the region

Translate strategies and business projects into clear, compelling messaging

Represents company at public meetings, hearings, and industry organizations

Develop targeted strategies to execute community giving programs

Collaborate with communications team to amplify partnership's impact

Coordinate, plan tours of company facilities for external stakeholders

Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

Bachelor's degree in communications, public affairs, political science or a related field or equivalent work experience

3 – 7 years of experience with state or local government relations, government, or economic development

Maintains a sense of urgency, individual responsibility, and possesses the ability to effectively work under pressure and with changing priorities.

Must be capable of managing multiple issues at once.

Possesses a high level of initiative and is able to work effectively with minimum supervision.

Excellent judgement in high‑profile, high‑pressure environments

Experience working in team environments

Excellent listening, written, and oral communications skills

Ability to travel regionally and work remotely (up to 50%)

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level

The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 2‑5 years of relevant job related experience

The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5‑8 years of relevant job related experience

The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Track record of proven work with community groups, local governments, and nonprofits

Experience working on public affairs, grassroots, and/or charitable campaigns

Experience in the manufacturing, energy and/or utilities fields

Experience in new and traditional media

Working Conditions The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Normal office working conditions with approximately 50% of the time in the field.

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

Overnight travel may be required.

Position is based in industrial settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
