Job Title: Recreations Lead
Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, the Recreations Lead is responsible for performing the following. Plans, coordinates and promotes recreation activities within the Parks and Recreation department. Instruct a variety of classes for preschool, youth and adults including arts, crafts, sports, special interest, health and fitness, aquatic and outdoor activities. Monitor program compliance with laws, rules and regulations related to provision of recreation and related services. Set up and take down equipment, clean supplies for activities, and ensure equipment is checked out and returned. Aids in coordinating recreation and/or other special events hosted by the city. Builds relationships with vendors, contractors, and instructors to ensure successful programming and participation. Provides customer service and responds to routine inquiries regarding the city's recreation and park facilities, services, and programs. Secure the safety of Recreation Center and center patrons, including opening and closing facility and overseeing the care and use of center by patrons. Organize, schedule, and supervise sports programs, teams, leagues, art classes, workshops, exhibits and all activities for the center. Ensure athletic fields and gyms are game ready. Assists with programs and events by registering patrons for recreation classes and events; monitors indoor/ outdoor recreation and aquatic activities; setting up equipment or supplies, completing clean-up activities, and checking out and ensuring equipment is returned. Processes participant registration for various types of recreation classes and activities to include receiving and processing fees. Work regular Early morning, Night and weekend shifts. Perform related duties as assigned. Bachelor's or equivalent from an accredited college or university with major course work in Recreation or closely related field; or two-years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid Texas Driver's license. May be required to obtain CDL with passenger endorsement. Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screen and backgroundcheck. Group Ex Certification (Preferred). Personal Training Certification (Preferred). First Aid CPR (Preferred). Swim Instructor Certification (Preferred).
