ABOUT In the realm of military intelligence operations, effective and secure communication in cyberspace is essential. As a Cyber Communications Officer, you will be instrumental in managing the global Naval network landscape. Your core responsibilities will include: Strategically planning future network platforms Maximizing the efficiency of Navy technologies Designing and implementing advanced information systems and command technologies Gaining insights into adversaries and enhancing battle strategies during conflict RESPONSIBILITIES In this pivotal role, you will spearhead initiatives to plan, acquire, secure, operate, and maintain the Naval network and its encompassing systems. Key activities will encompass: Leading network warfare missions and developing tactical procedures to secure strategic advantages Promoting interoperability with joint, allied, and coalition partners Facilitating professional development through education, training, and certification programs Leveraging advanced technologies and knowledge management to optimize operational effectiveness Supervising Information Systems Technicians specializing in IT WORK ENVIRONMENT Cyber Communications Officers will engage in dynamic roles with expanding responsibilities, which may include: Operating on ship Battle Group staffs Participating in C4I/Space/Surveillance on land assignments Serving within high-profile Navy and joint staffs Leading major communication and surveillance facilities worldwide TRAINING & ADVANCEMENT To excel in this specialist position, you must commence your journey with Officer Candidate School (OCS) and continue with a five-week IP Basic Course in Pensacola, Fla. Completing specific qualifications during Fleet tours is essential, and you are encouraged to pursue advanced educational opportunities. EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES Advancing your education is crucial for professional growth. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS A four-year degree is mandatory for this position. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science. Additionally, candidates must: Be U.S. citizens Be willing to serve globally Be eligible for a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance Be qualified for sea duty General qualifications may vary based on prior military service or experience.
