About The Role We are seeking a Collections Specialist to manage accounts receivable and collections for construction projects, with a strong focus on cash flow, payment risk, retainage, and lien compliance. This position collaborates closely with Project Managers, the Accounts Receivable Manager, and the Billing team to proactively address concerns and ensure the timely processing of receivables. Position includes cross‑training with the AR Manager and provides backup support as needed.

In This Role You Will

Manage AR aging and collections across active construction projects.

Contact customers, GCs, and owners regarding past‑due invoices and payment commitments.

Review contract terms, billing cycles, retainage, and pay‑when‑paid provisions.

Track retainage and coordinate closeout documentation and release timing.

Monitor and help resolve billing disputes with Project Managers.

Track lien deadlines and coordinate notices, filings, and releases.

Prepare AR, collections, retainage, and dispute reports for management.

Support month‑end close, reconciliations, audits, and cash flow forecasting.

Crosstrain with the AR Manager and provide backup AR support as needed.

Education/Experience

2+ years of AR or collections experience (construction preferred)

Knowledge of construction billing, retainage, and lien requirements

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work independently and in a group setting.

Ability to multi‑task and prioritize.

Willingness and adaptability to take on tasks outside of job description based on business needs.

Strong knowledge of all Microsoft Suite programs
