Role Description This is a remote contract position for an Auto Appraiser with Rapid Appraisal Services (RAS). The Auto Appraiser will be responsible for conducting thorough damage field assessments, preparing detailed appraisal reports, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Day‑to‑day tasks include evaluating damaged vehicles, utilizing estimation software, collaborating with clients and other professionals for claim reviews, and meeting deadlines to provide accurate and timely appraisals. The appraiser must maintain clear communication with the team and deliver exceptional client service. Some files will be "photos & scope" and will not require an estimate.
Compensation Based on completed file. Rates and terms will be discussed with potential candidates. Mileage reimbursement is included for files located outside of a defined start point. Payment is issued weekly.
Qualifications
Proficiency in vehicle damage assessment and use of appraisal software
Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for clear and professional client interactions
Familiarity with insurance industry standards, claims process, and relevant regulations
Technical knowledge of auto repair procedures and parts terminology
Ability to work independently in remote settings and manage multiple appraisals efficiently
Experience with property inspections and heavy equipment/motorcycle appraisals is a plus
Relevant certifications, such as I-CAR or ASE, are highly desirable
Reliable internet access, a computer, and a valid driver’s license are required
