Remote Work This role is remote. You must be based near or around Chicago, IL or Minneapolis, MN and within a reasonable driving distance to a major airport. Approximately 50% travel is expected.

Senior Sales Engineer – Technical Lead The Sr Sales Engineer takes the technical lead in the pre‑sales process and works with sales account managers to sell Fixed Industrial Scanners and Machine Vision systems for assigned partners, end‑user accounts or territory. They develop and execute sales strategy with the account manager for the assigned account(s) or territory, leveraging strong technical relationships with key customer contacts and creating high‑impact sales presentations and product training. They leverage relationships with other business units and/or external partners to deliver solutions, develop strong relationships with key decision‑makers and influencers, and initiate and lead customer presentations and value proposition creation.

Nature of Problems Solved – solves complex problems that may require unique solutions (e.g., unique applications of existing technologies) used across the business in similar situations

Role – often leads semi‑formal teams or significant portions of a large permanent team

Main Level of Interaction – leads negotiations on complex deals which may be primarily technical, financial, or both

Required Knowledge of Customer – industry strategies, customer positioning, financials, and business drivers

Business and Financial Impact – responsible for revenue attainment, margins where appropriate, and personal expenses

Relative Size and Scope – average to high individual quota for business in like roles or strategic growth potential within a year or two

Types of Projects – moderately complex deals with a few large, complex deals

Strategic Impact for Zebra – high in near term; medium in mid‑term

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.

5+ years of experience in a related technical role (Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer, Solution Architect, Pre‑Sales Engineer, Field Application Engineer) with machine vision‑related products.

Remote role must be based near or around Chicago, IL or Minneapolis, MN; approximately 50% travel expected.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with customers in the manufacturing vertical a plus.

Sales experience or ability to identify sales opportunities – a strong differentiator.

Uses advanced domain/solutions knowledge to competitive advantage.

Develops and adapts advanced sales strategies to unique customer needs; creates customer partnerships.

Demonstrated technical knowledge and consultative pre‑sales skills through communications and presentation delivery to prospects, customers and partners.

Effective coordination across various groups and functional teams both inside and outside the business.

Salary:

USD 105,700.00 - USD 158,500.00 Yearly. Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience. Additionally, all Zebra roles are eligible for cash incentive programs. For example, sales roles have additional opportunity to earn substantial variable compensation tied to quota achievement. In most other roles, the Zebra annual cash incentive program links company and individual performance together. Some roles may also be eligible for long‑term incentive equity awards.
