The Vineyards Country Club is seeking a
Full-Time Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
to join our team in Naples, Florida. This role supports the daily planning, coordination, and supervision of golf course maintenance operations, helping ensure exceptional playing conditions and overall course presentation.
Duties & Responsibilities
Work closely with the Director of Agronomy on the renovation and construction of the South Course.
Assist in planning and executing agronomic programs to maintain and improve turf quality and playing conditions.
Coordinate and supervise projects including cultivation, grading, seeding, and sodding.
Review soil and turf reports and assist in the application of fertilizers, lime, insecticides, fungicides, and other treatments.
Monitor turf conditions to determine mowing schedules, heights, and irrigation needs.
Supervise maintenance of greens, fairways, roughs, bunkers, trees, and surrounding grounds. Oversee daily tasks such as mowing, fertilizing, pesticide application, seeding, watering, and debris removal.
Assist in managing course setup, including cup placement and flag positioning.
Maintain accurate records and reporting related to maintenance programs and projects.
Support budget planning, cost estimates, and supply procurement.
Help oversee maintenance and repair of golf course equipment.
Assist in hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating team members.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Qualifications
Understanding of golf course operations, rules, and etiquette.
Knowledge of modern turf management practices, tools, and equipment.
Familiarity with turfgrass, trees, and plant materials suited to the southeastern United States.
General knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair.
Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with team members and club members.
Proficiency in operating mowers, tractors, sprayers, and other turf equipment.
Ability to follow and communicate instructions, policies, and procedures effectively.
Abilities
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, dust, pollen, and exposure to chemicals.
Capable of planning, prioritizing, and supervising multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare timely reports.
