The Opportunity
We're recruiting on behalf of a top 10 global freight forwarder – a business with the scale, infrastructure, and financial stability to back its people properly. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Project Logistics professional to join a high-performing projects team and take on a pure new business development mandate across Germany.
The position is fully signed off and ready to move.
The Role This is a 100% hunting position. Your focus will be on identifying and winning mid-sized project cargo customers – not the household-name multinationals, but the kind of shippers where relationships, market knowledge, and initiative win the day.
You’ll work export business out of Germany and cross-trade, with a focus on:
Machinery, flat-rack, and open-top cargo
Part-charter moves up to 30,000 TEU
Chinese wind energy companies (a key growth area)
French project business
You’ll receive an assigned customer portfolio and be expected to build a clear, structured plan for targeting new accounts. Southern Germany or North Rhine-Westphalia are the primary target regions.
The Team You’ll join a Hamburg-based projects team of 14 — a well-rounded group from post-Ausbildung talent through to a Senior Project Manager with decades of experience. There’s an established book of project customers already in place across four core verticals: infrastructure (the largest), marine logistics, oil & gas, and machinery/industrial equipment.

Who They're Looking For A salesperson solid project freight experience and a clear understanding of the German market. You don’t need to walk in with a book of business — but you need a network, a methodology, and the drive to build.
Proven background in project freight sales or operations (ideally both)
Strong knowledge of the German freight market
Existing network in the project logistics sector
Ability to build and present a structured target account plan
Experience with OOG, flat-rack, heavy lift, or breakbulk cargo
Beneficial:
Operational project logistics background
Exposure to Chinese wind energy or European project sectors
The Package
Base salary: €85,000 – €95,000 (up to €100,000 for the right profile)
Bonus: 20–25% performance‑related
Company car
30 days annual leave
Home office contract possible
