Support day‑to‑day execution of the People Content Optimization for AI program by translating strategy into actionable discovery, analysis, and delivery. The Associate Director operates as a hands‑on practitioner in information architecture, taxonomy, and content modeling, responsible for assessing current‑state People content and organizing it into clear, governed, and AI‑ready knowledge structures. This role focuses on shaping how People content is structured, labeled, related, and surfaced across platforms, ensuring that information hierarchy, metadata, and semantic relationships support findability, comprehension, reuse, and AI‑powered retrieval. Key Jobs To Be Done (Expanded, Industry‑Aligned)
Plan and execute discovery activities to understand content structure, information hierarchy, metadata models, and semantic relationships across People platforms. Conduct information architecture assessments, including audits of navigation models, content grouping, labeling, and cross‑platform consistency. Inventory and evaluate taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and tagging schemes, identifying gaps, redundancies, and misalignment with user intent. Analyze content relationships and dependencies (e.g., policies ? procedures ? FAQs ? tasks) to inform future‑state ontology and knowledge graph readiness. Identify high‑demand content, duplication, staleness, and usability issues using search logs, support tickets, and behavioral data. Document privacy, security, and regulatory constraints that influence content structuring, access, and AI usage. Translate findings into clear IA artifacts (content maps, taxonomy models, hierarchy diagrams, gap analyses) that inform Define‑phase decisions and roadmap development. Core Responsibilities
Support discovery workshops, interviews, and research focused on information architecture, taxonomy alignment, and content modeling. Produce core artifacts including:
Content inventories and audits Taxonomy and metadata gap analyses Information hierarchy and navigation models Discovery and synthesis reports
Partner with Content Strategy, Digital Experience, Data, EE&T, and Enablement Architecture teams to align content structure with platform capabilities. Help operationalize content standards for naming, classification, tagging, and reuse. Support adoption of shared terminology, controlled vocabularies, and governance models across AI PMO initiatives. Track milestones, risks, and dependencies in partnership with the Project Manager. Escalate insights, tradeoffs, and recommendations to the Director to support architectural and prioritization decisions. Success Measures
Completion of high‑quality discovery and IA artifacts aligned to PMO standards. Clear visibility into current‑state content structure, hierarchy, and semantic gaps. Improved alignment between user intent, information hierarchy, and content organization. Strong partner alignment on terminology, taxonomy, and future‑state content models. Actionable inputs that accelerate Define‑phase planning and AI‑readiness decisions. Qualifications
7–9 years of experience in information architecture, content strategy, knowledge management, digital experience, or HR technology roles. Demonstrated experience designing or evaluating:
Information hierarchies and navigation models Taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and metadata frameworks Content classification and governance at scale Working knowledge of ontology concepts, semantic relationships, and how structured content supports AI retrieval, search, and assistants.
Familiarity with enterprise content ecosystems (e.g., Workday Help, ServiceNow HRSD, portals/intranets). Ability to translate research and analysis into clear structural models and standards, not just documentation. Strong facilitation, synthesis, and stakeholder communication skills. Technical Skills
