Revenue Integrity Specialist
Contract‑to‑Hire | On‑Site for Training → Remote
Overview Seeking an experienced outpatient-focused coder to support charge capture accuracy, billing compliance, and revenue integrity. This role audits charges, resolves coding and billing edits, identifies missed charges, and partners with clinical and billing teams to reduce denials and improve processes.
Key Responsibilities
Audit charges against medical records and ensure correct observation, infusion, and injection charging.
Resolve NCD/LCD, CCI, MUE, and medical necessity edits.
Assign HCPCS codes/modifiers and support denial prevention.
Identify charging trends, missed charges, and documentation issues.
Educate departments on proper charging and collaborate on process improvements.
Maintain audit reports and support RAC/HIM reviews as needed.
Qualifications
CPC or other coding certification required
Recent coding experience in an acute‑care hospital
Strong outpatient coding experience preferred
Knowledge of ICD‑10‑CM, CPT, HCPCS, and payer rules
Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills
RN or LPN with extensive coding/auditing experience accepted
Work Environment
Mon–Fri, 8‑hour shifts (7 AM–5 PM window)
On‑site for training, then fully remote

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, VA.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $42.00/hr.
