We are seeking a Customer Service Representative to support utility billing operations and serve as the primary point of contact for residents. This role handles customer inquiries, processes payments, and manages accounts related to water and wastewater services.
What Youll Do
Assist customers in person, by phone, and email with billing, service setup, and account questions Process payments, deposits, and reconcile cash drawer daily Set up and maintain customer accounts, including service connections and disconnections Generate work orders for field services (meter reads, connects/disconnects, locates) Review overdue accounts and assist with collections Interpret utility maps and provide service availability information Support permits, capacity fees, and new service requests
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED Experience with payment posting and cash handling Strong general office and computer skills Professional phone and email etiquette Ability to handle customer billing questions and complaints
Preferred: Utility billing or municipal experience Customer account maintenance experience
