Nuclear Department Crew Leader

The purpose of this position is to provide direction and oversight for crew work and work review and to enforce Nuclear Department goals with the crew, making sure workers are adhering to station programs, work related procedures, work plans, and plant standards. Primary responsibilities include: Layout and implement strategies to complete work assignments per the scheduled times. Direct and supervise work being performed in the plant, labs and shops by Maintenance personnel. Help crew members develop work related skills pertaining to their job and perform task evaluations for worker certification. Answer technical work related questions to the crew. Develop troubleshooting plans and direct troubleshooting activities for equipment related problems in the power plant to pinpoint the exact problems. Enforce Nuclear Department goals and expectations. Provide feedback to Planning when we see a better or more cost-effective way of performing certain jobs. Motivate the crew while performing tasks, keeping an open mind and good attitude towards the position. Maintain necessary qualifications and expertise to be able to respond and lead in plant response to upset conditions within the Nuclear Emergency Response Organization. Basic qualifications include: High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a nuclear power plant, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and testing a wide variety of equipment typical to nuclear power generating stations. Must live within the 55 minute response time for Nuclear Emergency Response Organization qualification. Preferred qualifications include: Good knowledge of the systems within a power plant. Good technical ability on almost all plant equipment which could break down. Knowledge of the equipment and activities on the Refuel Floor. Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead, coach and correct direct reports and peers.
