We are partnering with a well-established mechanical contractor to hire a
Commercial Sheet Metal Foreman
for projects in
San Antonio, TX . This is a great opportunity for a hands‑on leader to oversee field operations and drive high quality HVAC installations on commercial construction projects.
Pay:
Up to $40.00/hour (based on experience and skill level)
Position Overview The Sheet Metal Foreman will lead and supervise field crews, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and lead sheet metal crews installing
HVAC ductwork, fittings, hangers, and equipment
Plan, coordinate, and assign daily work to meet project schedules and milestones
Read and interpret
construction drawings, shop drawings, and specifications
Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, trades, and inspectors
Perform
job site layout, material takeoffs, and manpower planning
Order materials and ensure timely delivery to the job site
Monitor productivity, labor hours, and assist with scheduling and cost control
Complete
Daily Activity Reports and Weekly Production Reports
Enforce safety standards, PPE compliance, and lead toolbox talks
Conduct
Daily Job Safety Assessments (JSA)
prior to work
Train, mentor, and support apprentices and journeymen
Troubleshoot field issues and resolve installation conflicts
Assist with project closeout and final inspections
Qualifications
2+ years of experience as a
Sheet Metal Foreman
in commercial construction
Strong knowledge of
HVAC and ductwork installation practices
Ability to read and interpret construction documents and plans
Proven leadership and crew management experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to pass a
background check and drug screening
