JOB TITLE Family and Community Engagement Facilitator
SITE LOCATION OF POSITION Standard Middle School
TERM/HOURS OF POSITION 8 Hours Per Day
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Assist in the development of family and community partnerships under the supervision of the Director, Student Support Services
Empower families to promote academic success, reduce and resolve student health problems, address financial problems, promote emotional well‑being of children and families, improve student attendance, and promote safety in homes, schools, and neighborhoods
Work closely with district health staff (school nurses, LVNs, etc.) to establish cooperative relationships with children, parents, staff, and community members
Attend meetings as directed; maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about children and families
Perform other related duties as required
EXPERIENCE Background in human services, human development, child development, or related field; experience working with families in a school setting or a social service agency; successful experience working cooperatively and effectively communicating (both orally and in writing) with a variety of people.
EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in social science or related area preferred.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bilingual in Spanish and English.
SALARY Range 23, Step 1: $25.10 per hour
SCREENING PROCEDURES Review of applications and personal interviews.

OTHER COMMENTS The applicant selected will be required to successfully complete a pre-placement medical assessment, TB clearance, and fingerprint clearance before being hired as a probationary employee.
