
Sr. Packaging Designer

Mission: Lead the design of fresh, market right and on-brand packaging and showroom materials for our Branded MGA Entertainment Properties.
About the Role Responsible for the planning, fulfillment and tracking of assigned projects.
Responsibilities Lead the design and execution of “trend-right” graphics against brand objectives and strategic plan/timeline.
Lead the design for trade shows, retail shows, PR, etc. as requested
Responsible for medium to complex packaging, design and retail design projects
Lead in the design of packaging within assigned categories; set and adhere to all necessary branding and creative guidelines necessary to ensure all quality, design and production standards are met.
Ensure packaging and graphic designs reflect MGA quality and branding objectives
Conceptualizes and executes presentation materials
Develop cost effective packaging designs in partnership with structural engineer (s).
Art directs photo shoots and leads the visual look for new sub brands.
Identify and collect all the necessary from cross-functional teams including: QA, PD, Marketing, Photo Studio and Editorial to successfully lead and execute the photo shoots on time.
Manage and lead all packaging timelines with key partners.
Manage Creative Package, Brand, Print, Retail, showroom and Design deliveries to meet or exceed revenue targets and growth objectives set.
Communicate and liaise with internal creative resources, marketing and retail teams as well as cross line of business teams.
Ensure all jobs obtain a creative brief, are approved and posted with the teams prior to creation
Ensuring all deadlines are met as agreed upon.
Perform and document retail store checks to review competitive set(s).
Qualifications
BA/BS or 2 years Technical College in a related field or 3-5 year related work experience or combination thereof.
Required Skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Fluent in Illustrator, PhotoShop, Microsoft Excel, Word and PPT.
Understands all elements of design: illustration, page layout, color and typography.
Able to design for print and package 3D production and lead in the creative process.
High level of interest in specific Toy packaging category preferred.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Highly detail-oriented.
Self-starter, motivated and proactive.
Solid strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
Friendly, people oriented team player.
Able to manage and handle multiple tasks/assignments.
A sense of urgency and a strong efficient work ethic.
Displays flexibility, a sense of humor and positive attitude.
Able to clearly communicate and present vision/ideas.
