About Our Client: Addison Group is partnering with our client, a well-established financial institution, to hire a Commercial Loan Specialist. This role supports both loan documentation and servicing functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency throughout the loan lifecycle.
Job Description: The Commercial Loan Specialist will support both documentation preparation and loan processing activities. This position plays a key role in reviewing loan files, onboarding new and renewed loans, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in handling various types of loans, including commercial, consumer, and real estate.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review loan documentation for new, renewed, and modified loans, ensuring alignment with approvals, collateral requirements, and regulatory standards
Input and validate required reporting data (e.g., HMDA/CRA) within internal systems
Review supporting documents such as title policies, insurance coverage, flood certifications, and collateral filings for accuracy and completeness
Assist with booking loans into the system and performing post-booking quality checks
Coordinate filing of real estate-related documentation
Process financial transactions including payments, payoffs, reversals, disbursements, and fee postings while ensuring proper reconciliation
Generate and review loan reports, statements, and assist with general ledger balancing
Handle customer and internal inquiries, including payoff requests, verifications, and audit-related documentation
Support exception tracking, document imaging, and ongoing file maintenance
Contribute to special projects and departmental initiatives as needed
Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with loan systems
Additional Details:
3+ years of experience in banking, with a focus on loan operations or administration
At least 2 years of experience in loan documentation preparation
Understanding of loan accounting practices and financial transactions
Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements within banking
