Overview
Associate Director will work directly with senior originators to help connect private businesses at all stages of their lifecycle to a full spectrum of tailored Capital Markets solutions, investment banking capabilities, transition advisory, and industry expertise. The role involves training, managing, and monitoring the work product of Analysts and Associates, overseeing the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of high‑quality templates to promote consistency of appearance and delivery across Capital Markets. The Associate Director will identify opportunity‑specific ideas, insights, industry comparable analysis, and financial modeling, summarizing them in concise, illustrative, and persuasive presentations to support all of Huntington’s regions and industry verticals, while delivering holistic advice and providing thought leadership around business transitions, complex capital structuring, and Regional Institutional Capital initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Contribute to pitch meetings and new business development discussions.
Anticipate needs for upcoming meetings of senior bankers’ schedules and pipelines.
Maintain working knowledge of specific industry/products and demonstrate fluency in Capital Markets activities across products.
Identify potential transaction opportunities.
Problem‑solve in real time and communicate transaction issues requiring resolution.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Capital Markets.
FINRA Series 79, 63, or other necessary combination.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working closely with Debt and Equity Capital Markets groups, including Syndicated Finance, High Grade Bonds & Private Placements, Leveraged Finance & High Yield Bonds, Syndicate Sales & Loan Sales & Trading, and Equity Capital Markets.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels and externally with clients.
Excellent attention to detail, self‑starter with intellectual curiosity and ability to share and summarize industry research and products.
Strong client‑facing skills with the ability to build trusted relationships.
Progressive thinker and problem solver, with a strong ability to manage ambiguity & complexity and anticipate organizational demands.
Work effectively in teams as well as independently across multiple tasks, pitches, internal approval screens, cash flow / enterprise value models, while meeting aggressive timelines in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to embrace change, constructively negotiate constraints, and effectively leverage resources to create exceptional outcomes.
Consistently model and inspire high levels of professional demeanor and integrity and mentor junior colleagues.
