This role covers operational oversight of all elements of IT Security for the organization. This position serves in a coordinating role with the Cyber Security Team for both operational and strategic elements. Performs day‑to‑day operations of technical security systems with assistance from other teams including Endpoint Security, EDR, SIEM, Firewall, IDS, MDR SOC, vulnerability management, auditing, etc. Identifies and defines scope of technology‑related issues and ensures all issues are logged, tracked, managed, and resolved in accordance with company policies and procedures. Works to identify and safeguard the organization from intrusion, security threats, security weaknesses, software bugs and exploits. Supports ITIL and CIS Controls frameworks including a balanced approach to support CIS 20 critical controls. Assists in maintaining a highly secure system environment through proper configuration and system access monitoring. Performs hands‑on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, Works with external Cyber Security consultants, Pen Testers and Cyber Security Insurance consultants. Assists and coordinates staff training in security awareness skills. Ensures associated protocols, methodologies and procedures are implemented successfully. Must understand and apply core cybersecurity principles in IT environments including software configuration, development, identity and access management, data classification and labeling and adherence to company security policies and procedures as it relates to the role within IT. Participation in cybersecurity awareness and role‑specific training is required within 90 days of hire and on a recurring basis. This salary‑exempt role is a part of our Information Technology team and reports to the Cyber Security manager. Required experience:
Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in Cyber Security Operations Knowledge of relevant IT Security related hardware, software and vendor solutions. Extensive practical knowledge of computer operating systems Ability to quickly get to the root cause of complex issues utilizing available tools
