Contract Specialist

This position is located in the Defense Logistics Agency. Duties

The duties include: Serving as a Contract Specialist, accomplishing negotiation, analysis, and other buying functions in support of assigned aircraft and equipment. Responsible for actions related to the administration, evaluation, analysis, and negotiation of pre/post-award actions. Acquisition planning, preparation of cost and price analysis for designated actions, contract negotiations, execution, and contract administration. Conducting in-depth analysis of proposals to evaluate the reasonableness of proposed contract prices. Preparing comprehensive negotiation objectives concerning cost, profit, and price, and providing advice on cost and price matters to other contract specialists. Preparing in-depth price negotiation memorandums which document the various negotiation positions and final negotiation results. Evaluating contractors past delivery performance to determine if contract options should be awarded and to provide such information for pre-award survey use. Establishing necessary administrative controls and procedures to ensure contract compliance. Providing pre- and post-award procurement services in support of complex and/or diversified repairable and associated requirements. Serving as the central point of contact for pre award contracting actions, performing work associated with a wide range of contract types and contract methods for the procurement of items, services, and materials. Conditions of employment include: Must be a U.S. citizen. Tour of Duty: Flexible. Security Requirements: Non-Critical Sensitive. Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination, where reciprocity cannot be applied; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal. To qualify for a Contract Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A basic contracting requirement. A contracting officer requirement. Specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs and other organizations.
