
Business Development Representative

Pemberton Transportation Services is hiring a Business Development Representative for our growing North America third-party brokerage. As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities. This position is in Knoxville, Tennessee.
PTS will support you by:
Encourage professional growth and opportunities for advancement
Initial onboarding training and continued professional development
No limits on territories or size of opportunities
Expectations of a PTS Business Development Representative:
Consistently and actively soliciting new business opportunities
Meet set milestones through first year of employment
Build new relationships, maintain, and grow existing relationships with shippers and carriers
Using research and market analysis, negotiate transactional and contractual deals with customers and carriers
Be the sole point of contact for customers and carriers to ensure services expectations are met
Manage the day-to-day operations of customers and carriers (operational support at certain milestones)
Actively participate in sales meetings and report on goals, forecasting, and wins
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
1+ year of New Business Development Experience, inside or outside sales
1+ year of 3PL Brokerage experience, preferred
Drayage and IMDL experience, a plus
Energetic and relentless hunter mentality
Strong sales and negotiation skills
Proficiency in Microsoft suite
