Customer Service Representative (Patient Support) – Portland, OR (Must be local to Portland or surrounding areas)
Are you passionate about helping people and delivering exceptional customer service? We're looking for empathetic, driven Customer Service Representatives to support patients through a financial wellness program designed to make healthcare more affordable and accessible.
In this role, you'll be the trusted voice for patients – answering questions, guiding them through their options, and helping them stay on track with payments – all while providing a first-class, white-glove experience.
What You'll Do
Serve as the primary phone contact for patients and potential patients, handling both inbound and outbound calls.
Make outbound calls, including:
Welcome calls to newly enrolled participants
Follow-ups on past-due accounts
Service calls to non-enrolled patients
Special outreach campaigns aligned with our patient advocacy mission
Educate patients on program benefits and encourage enrollment and payment activity with professionalism and empathy.
Deliver high-quality customer service as a patient advocate and brand ambassador.
Accurately document call activity, patient interactions, and outcomes using a proprietary CRM system.
Escalate concerns or complaints appropriately to ensure timely resolution.
Participate in ongoing coaching, mentoring, and quality evaluations to continuously grow your skills.
What We're Looking For
A strong customer service mindset – experience in retail, restaurants, call centers, or similar roles is welcome.
High school diploma or equivalent work experience preferred.
1-2 years of phone-based customer support or call center experience preferred.
Experience in healthcare or financial services, including familiarity with HIPAA, is a plus.
Comfortable making outbound calls and discussing payments in a respectful, supportive manner.
Coachable, open to feedback, and motivated to grow.
Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable using technology and CRM systems.
Work Environment Requirements
Must reside in Portland, OR, or surrounding areas.
Must have a quiet, private workspace.
Workspace cannot be shared with other people during work hours.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, OR.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.50/hr.
