A leading childrenswear manufacturer is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Account Manager responsible for leading and growing key multi‑channel retail accounts, serving as the primary liaison between retail partners and internal teams. The role requires strong retail acumen, disciplined communication, calendar ownership, and coordinated execution across seasonal workflows.
Retail Account Ownership (Multi‑Channel)
Drive sales and margin performance for assigned accounts Build strong partner relationships across store & digital; deliver insights and solutions Manage all account communication, including meetings, agendas, recaps, and follow‑ups Oversee channel‑specific needs - assortment depth/breadth, timing, line variations, and differentiation Ensure accuracy in size buckets, naming conventions, imagery, and PLM data Monitor sales, competitive landscape, and opportunities/risks with clear, repeatable protocols
Seasonal Line & Business Management
Align with Division Leader and Design on seasonal strategy and build channel‑appropriate assortments Manage sell‑in, edits, and feedback loops with retail partners Support breadth/depth planning, fixture strategy, and digital optimization Deliver milestone‑ready line presentations with Planning, Design, and Creative Ensure assortments and inventory levels support customer strategy, brand standards, and financial goals
Execution & Cross‑Functional Coordination
Own seasonal calendars and ensure milestone discipline across teams Coordinate samples, line sheets, CADs, cost documentation, copy, and digital assets Track action items, drive accountability, and escalate blockers with solutions Maintain PLM accuracy and workflow visibility Facilitate efficient, structured cross‑functional communication
Production Tracking & Delivery Oversight
Partner with Production, Sourcing, and Operations to maintain timelines, quality, and cost parameters Track POs, fabric commitments, ex‑factory dates, and delivery milestones; surface risks early Ensure alignment with retailer naming, size blocks, and submission standards Communicate timing changes and production updates clearly to partners
Financial & Commercial Accountability
Partner with Planning & Finance on forecasts, margins, and growth strategies Support costing reviews and margin negotiations with data‑backed inputs Understand P&L drivers and identify profitability opportunities Coordinate with Finance/AR on account risk, credit exposure, and insurance thresholds
Requirements
Required
Bachelor's Degree 4+ years in account management, sales, merchandising, or related apparel/CPG roles Strong organization, communication, and project‑management skills Ability to manage multiple workstreams with urgency and accuracy Comfortable navigating cross‑functional environments Proficiency in Office365
Preferred
Children's apparel or licensed‑brand experience Familiarity with retail calendars, product‑creation workflows, and production cycles Experience managing multi‑channel mass‑market accounts PLM proficiency and ability to troubleshoot workflow issues Ability to build compelling, data‑driven buyer presentations
