organizations,investsinthecreativeeconomy,andexpandsaccessandparticipationintheartsthroughout
Chicago's 77 neighborhoods. As a collaborative cultural presenter, arts funder, and advocate for creative
workers,ourprogramsandeventsserveChicagoansandvisitorsofallagesandbackgrounds,downtownandin
diversecommunitiesacrossourcity-tostrengthenandcelebrateChicago.
DCASEproducessomeofthecity'smosticonicfestivals,markets,events,andexhibitionsattheChicagoCultural
Center,MillenniumPark,andincommunitiesacrossthecity-servingalocalandglobalaudienceof25million
people. The Department offers cultural grants and resources, manages public art, supports TV and film
productionandothercreativeindustries,andpermitsspecialeventsthroughoutChicago.
DCASEoffersmorethan2,000high-qualityfreeexhibitions,concerts,theatricalanddanceperformances,films,
lecturesanddiscussions,familyeventsandotherprogramseachyearatvenuesacrossthecity.Eventsinclude
ChicagoHouseMusicFestival,ChicagoGospelMusicFestival,ChicagoBluesFestival,TasteofChicago,Chicago
SummerDanceCelebration,ChicagoJazzFestival.DCASEalsomanagesawiderangeofprojectsthatadvance
theCityofChicagoanditsvibrantneighborhoods.
