Are you looking for your next opportunity? Sompo has a unique opportunity for an Underwriting Assistant, E&S Casualty. The position is for our Los Angeles, Reporting to the VP, Underwriting Support Manager, E&S Casualty. Our seasoned U.S. Excess Casualty E&S team applies significant expertise and creativity to complete placements. Leveraging our relationships with appointed wholesale brokers, we provide meaningful capacity, a consistent underwriting approach and timely coverage and claims responses. Our business, your impact, our opportunity: What you will be Doing: Responsible for reviewing submissions Assist underwriters with quote, binder, policy issuance & endorsement workflows Work with and follow up with producers for any outstanding information & subjectivities Review & adhere to Surplus Lines State regulations Create, register, process and distribute binders, policies and endorsements within processing standards established by management Prepare all policies in accordance with final binders inclusive of review by underwriting staff Implement and maintain a field service reputation that is recognized as superior in the industry To review and analyse facultative reinsurance certificates as determined by management Provide backup to other Underwriting Assistants as necessary What you will bring: Minimum of 2+ years' experience as a technical/underwriting assistant with similar duties Bachelor's Degree Preferred Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities Strong written and oral communication skills Computer skills including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Adobe Acrobat Able to multi-task and communicate well Demonstrated planning and organizational skills Salary Range: $80,000 $100,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
