Position Summary:
The SAB primarily assists the broker team by marketing both basic and complex submissions/accounts, servicing active and expired policy files, and meeting the day-to-day needs of retail clients, all in accordance with Brown & Riding's values, goals, and procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Manage the marketing of accounts by preparing submissions, approaching carriers for quotes, and negotiating coverage, requiring minimal support from senior team members for basic accounts and most complex situations.
- Meet and exceed client expectations by managing coverage goals, priorities, and overall expectations throughout the submission process.
- Solicit timely responses to submissions, negotiate pricing and terms with underwriters, and provide regular updates to clients.
- Gather and develop complete loss summaries and analyses as needed.
- Prepare high-quality, error-free submissions and effectively present information to underwriters verbally and in writing.
- Identify and correct document inconsistencies or errors, and clarify issues with clients or underwriters promptly.
- Ensure the quality, timeliness, and accuracy of quotes, binders, checklists, and other marketing documentation for accounts handled or overseen.
- Follow internal Quality Management System (QMS) standards to meet quality goals.
- Ensure all transactions comply with regulatory requirements and company policies, maintaining accurate records.
- Facilitate clear communication of coverage terms and other information between clients and underwriters, ensuring policy alignment with client expectations.
- Independently maintain and develop relationships with carriers, including regular in-person contact.
Other Responsibilities:
- Provide training and guidance to Production Assistants, Associates, and other team members to support their growth.
- Collaborate with the broker to identify projects matching skills, experience, and knowledge.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Maintain and enhance relationships with retail clients, including some in-person interactions, typically with senior team members.
Education, Experience, and Skills:
- 3 to 8 years of relevant insurance experience.
- Property & Casualty and Surplus Lines Licenses (as required by state).
- Exceptional organizational, follow-up, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills for problem-solving, data interpretation, and drawing conclusions.
- Proactive, with good listening skills and a supportive approach.
- Strong negotiation skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to interact effectively with diverse personalities and communication styles.
- Flexible schedule and adaptability to changing demands.
- Ability to manage time independently to complete tasks efficiently.
- Intermediate proficiency in PC software (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Physical activities are within normal office expectations; some travel may be required.
- Normal vision, correctable if needed, with no significant impact from color vision, peripheral vision, or depth perception issues.
- Work environment is primarily office-based; some outdoor travel may occur.
