Novavax is seeking a strategic, forward-thinking Director, Investor Relations to lead and evolve a best-in-class investor relations program for a publicly traded biotechnology company. Reporting to the Executive Vice President (EVP) & Chief Financial Officer, this highly visible role partners closely with the executive leadership team to articulate the company's scientific, data driven, and financial narrative; strengthen engagement with the investment community; and support long-term shareholder value creation.
This role requires strong capital markets expertise, scientific fluency, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling investment messages.
How You'll Make an Impact
Lead a comprehensive investor relations strategy that clearly communicates Novavax's vision, pipeline progress, and long-term growth potential to investors and analysts
Serve as a key advisor to the executive team, providing insights on investor sentiment, market dynamics, peer performance, and capital markets trends
Coordinate all aspects of quarterly earnings, annual shareholder meetings, and major investor events, ensuring consistent, accurate, and compliant disclosures
Drive proactive investor outreach through conferences, non-deal roadshows, one-on-one meetings, and company hosted events
Enhance and execute a targeted shareholder engagement strategy, managing inbound investor inquiries and maintaining strong institutional relationships
Act as a primary point of contact for sell side analysts; support efforts to broaden and deepen equity research coverage
Partner cross functionally with Finance, Legal, R&D, Corporate Communications, and external advisors to ensure alignment and consistency of messaging
Collaborate with executive leadership team and corporate communications on the development of investor facing materials, including corporate presentations, earnings decks, scripts, Q&As, and other disclosure documents
Manage the investor relations website to ensure accuracy, transparency, and regulatory compliance
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
10+ years of relevant professional experience in investor relations, investment banking, equity research, corporate finance, or consulting, ideally within biotechnology or life sciences.
Deep understanding of capital markets, investor behavior, and valuation drivers for public biotech companies.
Strong knowledge of SEC regulations, disclosure requirements, and best practices for public company communications.
Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex scientific and financial concepts clearly.
Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast paced, highly visible, and deadline- driven environment.
Collaborative, intellectually curious leader with strong judgment, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
Education, Experience, Licenses & Certifications
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS, or similar) preferred
