VP Credit Underwriter - C&I

A regional bank is looking to expand their well-established C&I Middle Market team and add a VP Credit Underwriter. This is a highly visible, hands‑on role that combines underwriting, portfolio management, and deal structuring, working closely with relationship managers and senior credit leadership across a diverse commercial lending portfolio. The position offers the opportunity to support a wide range of middle market transactions and contribute to the continued growth of the broader commercial banking platform.
Responsibilities:
Full-cycle underwriting and portfolio management across middle market C&I credits ranging in size $10MM to $50MM+.
Manage and monitor portfolio performance to ensure strong credit quality and adherence to risk standards.
Partner closely with relationship managers on deal structuring and execution, along with client-facing opportunities.
Evaluate and manage exposure across syndicated and bilateral transactions.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in commercial credit underwriting and portfolio management.
Strong background in C&I/middle market lending.
Proven experience underwriting $100MM+ transactions.
Exposure to syndicated loans and complex credit structures.
