Job Description
NBC 6 South Florida is seeking a multiplatform content producer for our 24/7 streaming channel. The role collaborates with producers, reporters, anchors, and the desk to gather elements and assist in producing newscasts, news stories, and special segments.
Gather, produce, write, update, and edit video news content for streaming, linear, and other platforms.
Build rundowns in news systems, including virtual control room technology.
Consume and remain updated on daily news events, past events, and market context in South Florida.
Collaborate with assignment desk, producers, and reporters to research and produce news segments and place content on appropriate platform.
Maintain live, urgent, and relevant content on the NBC6 South Florida News streaming channel.
Ensure all scripts are factually and grammatically accurate.
Coordinate and monitor streaming of breaking news, live events, and newscasts.
Support reporters, anchors, and photographers with content needs.
Search wires and partner sources for stories.
Serve as show producer and assist in the control room when needed.
Qualifications
Minimum one year of broadcast writing or multiplatform experience at a news organization creating content under tight deadlines.
B.A. degree or equivalent experience in Journalism, Communications, or related field.
Requirements
Write on deadline with speed and accuracy.
Available for overtime, overnight, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Able to work extended and flexible hours during hurricanes, emergency situations, and breaking news.
Strong journalistic skills with ability to write and edit broadcast and digital copy.
Self‑directed, highly organized, and detail oriented.
Function well in a fast‑paced, multi‑cultural environment.
Desired Characteristics
Experience in conversational writing for broadcast and narrative writing in digital.
Knowledge of various media platforms, including streaming/digital platforms.
Exceptional communication skills.
Excellent news instincts with decisiveness for breaking news.
Desire to work in a creative, demanding, competitive news environment.

Creative approach to storytelling and problem solving.
Ability to make priority decisions under deadlines.
