Description
The Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for the supervision, organization, planning and scheduling of their assigned duties. Responsible for directing the contractors and subcontractors. Monitoring the quality of work performed on the project and maintaining a safe project. Monitor project costs and take necessary action to minimize expenses and maximize profits while maintaining quality.
Requirements
Must have a minimum of 3-years’ experience as an Assistant Superintendent.

Minimum Position Responsibilities
Responsible for understanding contract, subcontract documents, drawings and specifications under direction from the Superintendent.
Check and verify subcontractor layout to ensure compliance with established control, line and grade.
Monitor production and record rates in logbook to be used for future scheduling
Maintain a set of production documents and redlines and update daily so an accurate picture of work in place is consistently maintained.
Report any and all field conditions and issues to the Superintendent
Monitor job progress on-site, checking all work to ensure compliance with contract documents and with Quality Control Program
Work with Superintendent to develop and carry out the plan and schedule for project work.
Plan and prepare documentation to facilitate the close out process at the discretion of the Superintendent.
Maintain and review safety requirements for the project and resolve or report deficiencies to the Superintendent and Safety Manager.
Work with and coach project engineers on the project to facilitate their skills development
Project Start-Up/Turnover Meeting
Assist with pre-mobilization activities in conjunction with the Superintendent.
Assist with start-up schedule with the Project Manager/Superintendent.
Review Subcontractors/Vendor Scopes of Work with Project Manager/Superintendent.
Scheduling
Responsible for updating and implementing construction schedules in the field
Assist with Project Baseline Schedule based on the project contracts and subcontractor input, taking into elements that might impact the schedule.
Maintain the schedule and ensure that work performed is consistent with the contract and will meet or exceed client expectations.
Update project schedule as needed.
Provide progress report with the three-week look ahead of schedule to the Superintendent and the field staff.
Safety
Ensure that all subcontractors participate in a safety pre-construction meeting prior to starting work on the project
Review the project daily to ensure that all activities are being performed in accordance with all OSHA and governing requirements and the project site specific safety plan.
Quality Management
Ensure that all pertinent benchmarks for the project are established and inserted in the baseline schedule
Ensure that all appropriate individuals become members of the Q-Team
Ensure that all 1st delivery inspections and benchmark inspections occur per the baseline schedule so as not to impact the progression of the subsequent work
Ensure that the inspections are approved, documented, and communicated to the project team
Sub-Contractor and Site Management throughout the project
Assist with site pre-construction including pre-construction survey, job site utilization and staging plans
Maintain the job site to Bryan standards
Assist with review of sub/vendor pay application percent completion each month with project team
Organize documentation of the job site utilizing Bluebeam Revue for easy access and review
Manage subcontractor performance to quality and ethical standards
Meeting Management
Attend project turnover, mobilization, and project coordination meetings
Attend safety and pre-construction meetings
Assist with weekly foreman and safety meetings
Assist with monthly schedule review meetings
Assist with closeout meetings
Assist with owner meetings
Assist with subcontractor meetings and any others necessary to monitor and manage the project
Administrative Management
Assist with construction office checklists including emergency phone lists
Assist with daily reports and maintains logs of key activities, files, and shop drawings
Assist with the quality and condition of all material deliveries
Assist with required safety reporting and all other required files to Bryan standards
Ensure that as-built working drawings are maintained
Project Closeout
Assist with subcontractor closeout, transfer of utilities, owner training, and punch list
Education and/or Experience
Preferred 3+ years of Federal or Commercial Construction experience as an Assistant Superintendent
Is proficient with all required computer programs such as Procore, Bluebeam, Excel, Word and Sharepoint

Base pay and locality pay adjustments are available for out-of-state candidates and travel compensation. Candidates from all locations will be considered specifically for a certain project or a certain timeframe due to their expertise in this particular area.

Summary pay range: $80,000 - $95,000
