Construction Superintendent
Fairweather & Associates, Santa Rosa, CA, United States
Superintendent - High-End Residential Construction (North Bay)
Fairweather & Associates is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead the field execution of high-end residential construction projects throughout the North Bay, with a primary focus in Sonoma County and occasional projects in Napa and Marin Counties.
This role is for builders who take pride in running clean, safe, well-organized jobsites; who understand sequencing and coordination; and who value quality, planning, and professionalism.
The Role As a Superintendent, you are responsible for the day-to-day execution of the work in the field. You lead jobsite activity, coordinate subcontractors, manage schedule and quality, and represent Fairweather on site with clients, designers, inspectors, and neighbors.
You work in close partnership with the Project Manager and with support from the General Superintendent, while maintaining clear ownership of site operations.
What You'll Do
Lead all on-site construction activities from mobilization through closeout.
Coordinate subcontractors and site personnel to maintain safety, quality, and schedule.
Enforce safety standards and address issues immediately.
Manage the construction schedule and identify risks early.
Ensure work is built to plan and to Fairweather quality standards.
Coordinate inspections, site logistics, and daily field activity.
Communicate clearly with the project team and maintain accurate field documentation.
What We're Looking For
Strong working knowledge of residential construction systems and sequencing.
Ability to read and interpret construction documents and identify constructability issues.
Sound judgment, planning ability, and follow-through.
Clear communication with trades, consultants, and internal teams.
Comfort using email, scheduling tools, and digital project management systems.
A professional, organized approach to running a jobsite.
We hire at two levels based on experience, project complexity, and demonstrated reliability:
A Superintendent I manages a single project following established Fairweather systems and standards, with regular oversight and support.
A Superintendent II manages larger or more complex projects, operating with a high degree of autonomy, and consistently delivers successful outcomes.
Fairweather supports advancement from Superintendent I to Superintendent II through experience, performance, and increasing project responsibility.
Compensation
Superintendent I: $120,000 – $150,000 base salary
Superintendent II: $150,000 – $200,000 base salary
Actual compensation within these ranges is based on experience and prior project success. Health insurance, retirement plan, company truck/fuel card or allowance, and other benefits are included and will be discussed during the interview process.
This is a site-based role. Work hours vary by project phase and conditions, and flexibility is expected to support safe and timely project execution.
