
Structural Designer

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented structural designer to develop innovative corrugated and paperboard packaging solutions, including folding cartons and point-of-purchase displays. This role involves close collaboration with the sales team to deliver the most effective and brand-aligned packaging designs for our clients. You’ll be responsible for designing and implementing solutions that meet quality and cost-efficiency standards. In addition, you’ll work together with our production and engineering teams to optimize manufacturability and streamline the assembly process. This position requires the ability to take ownership of your projects from start to finish working through all stages of the design process.
Duties
Perform a variety of moderately complex to complex design assignments
Be able exercise independent judgment on projects
Must understand the entire design process from concept, prototype, testing, and production
Develop designs to enhance customer products while reducing packaging costs.
Work seamlessly with Graphics Department and Marketing Agencies by providing die-lines, machine restrictions, mockups, or other required specifications.
Create assembly instructions using various programs to comply with internal requirements
Examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures
Work with corrugated materials and tools on sample table
Always express a professional persona, regarding speech, timeliness, and attitude
Participate in project review meetings with Sales, Solutions, Project Managers, and other Designers.
Requirements
At least 5 years’ experience designing packaging and/or point of purchase displays.
Bachelor's degree in Packaging Design or Engineering or related field
In depth knowledge of ArtiosCAD a must.
Knowledge of cutting tables digital printers a must
Knowledge of pallet pattern programs Tops and/or Cape
Graphic Design background and/or knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a HUGE plus.
Knowledge of ISTA and ASTM testing
Must be curious and willing to continually learn
3D rendering capabilities is a plus
